JOB REQUIREMENTS: Req #: 53857 Job Summary: Under the direction of the Global HR Shared Services Manager, the Payroll Supervisor supervises and coordinates all payroll related activities for the U.S. and Canada (weekly hourly and bi-weekly salaried payrolls). Provides tax and legislative expertise to the HRSS team and ensures compliance in payroll processes. Owns documentation for all payroll processes and trains staff. Owns tax auditing and fallouts from the state & payroll vendor. Owns periodic filings that are not supported by the outsourced payroll vendor. This role operates as the escalation point to resolve issues and continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and legislative compliance, and designs and implements those initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 40% Payroll Processing: * Oversees all pay processes for US and Canadian employees and the respective subsidiaries which includes but not limited to salaried, non-exempt salaried, hourly, union, and retirees. Supports error resolution and auditing to ensure accurate and complete processing. Ensures tax compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. Acts as liaison between location payroll personnel and the payroll vendor for issue resolution, general inquiries, and change/correction requests. Processes all merit increases, incentive compensation payments, and compensation deferrals. Ensure timeliness and delivery of weekly payroll. Owns and audits complex payroll entry and imports. 20% Auditing and Compliance: * Identify and implement quality control measures. * Executes General Ledger processing after each payroll processing. Assists the Accounting department in balancing the SAP general ledger monthly. Maintain payroll account reconciliations and payroll funding * Own payroll filings not supported by the payroll outsource vendor. * Own new state and local registrations based on new tax filing & providing information to payroll vendor. * Owns follow-up to fall-out reports, interfacing with state departments and payroll vendor(s) to avoid and minimize any processing fees. * Compile and verify payroll data for multi-state bi-weekly time reports. 20% Documentation and Training * Ensures payroll best practices and updates payroll processing steps to increase payroll efficiency and reduce payroll cycle time. Documents all processes and weekly duties using defined templates and standards. Works with HRSS Manager to streamline intake and to employ continuous improvement to eliminate manual steps. * Create and maintain payroll documentation to ensure consistent and accurate processing by payroll team. * Work with HRIS and HRSS Manager to identify and support the testing, training, and implementation of process that will help drive accuracy and data integrity, including system upgrades and internal processes. * Partner with HRIS on testing and building training documentation of new system capabilities related to timekeeping & payroll. * Proactively communicates payroll activities, changes, or concerns to other department partners like HR, HRSS, HRIS, and Benefits. 20% Employee Service * Responds to escalated payroll inquiries from field locations * Approves manual check requests and coordinates with payroll staff for off-cycle processing, according to guidelines. * As a part of the HR Shared Services Team, supports resolution of payroll issues by phone and email. Other Duties as assigned and the following: * Responsible for supervising the team, fielding questions, training, auditing payrolls and ensuring accuracy within the department. Work with the team on creation and completion of team goals. Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer ***** THER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical demands: Minimal Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree * 4+ years of experience processing payroll in a corporate payroll environment * 1+ years supervisory experience * Strong working knowledge of payroll systems and reporting * Expert in payroll processing, including experience with setting up and paying in multiple states , banking and ledger reconciliation, payroll taxes/payroll tax laws, garnishment procedures/garnishment laws and HR/payroll related laws PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Ceridian Dayforce, SAP system experience * Experience with system conversions and acquisition integration * Experience working with an HR team or HRSS structure * Experience managing multiple legal entities * Experience in a manufacturing environment with union presences. * Experience with weekly payroll processing * CPP preferred but not required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel * Expert in HRIS and payroll systems * Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict payroll deadlines ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: *************************
