As a key member of the Finance & Accounting team, youll be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and planning of the Companys internal audit programs, including the implementation of the Companys Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) program. Post SOX implementation, you will play a lead role in the creation of an in-house Internal Audit function, and you will be responsible for testing of the Companys key internal controls in accordance with SOX to ensure compliance. This position reports functionally to the Chief Financial Officer with direct interaction with the outsourced internal audit firm and other members of the accounting and finance department. The ideal candidate can operate as a high-level individual contributor and critical thinker who works collaboratively with a team of accounting and finance professionals. Responsibilities: Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific duties may change from time to time. Support the execution of internal audits with the help and direction of the outsourced internal audit firm Prepare audit documentation, including control matrices, flowcharts, narratives, testing documentation, findings and recommendations Work with financial and non-financial company personnel to support the creation of process narratives and the identification of key controls within the business processes Assist with the development of project scope for the internal audit assignments, including the Companys SOX implementation Support external audit procedures over testing of the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls in accordance with SOX Identify issues, recommend areas for improvement, and help develop creative and effective solutions to mitigate risk and successfully remediate potential audit issues Utilize data analysis tools to identify risks and evaluate trends to improve Companys control environment Complete projects and reports in an accurate and timely manner with a commitment to meeting deadlines Qualifications: Valid drivers license required Bachelors Degree in Accounting and CPA and/or CIA certification Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, including financial auditing and / or public accounting at the senior auditor level; Big 4 experience preferred Experience in the construction and/or power and utilities industry preferred Strong knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles and other general and operational principles Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word Strong process and analytical skills Strong systems and software aptitude Work Environment & Conditions: Ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written Sustain interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally Maintain company information in a confidential manner Professional appearance, warm demeanor, collaborative work style and a positive attitude Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correctionby Jobble
