What You Will Contribute: Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for building high-quality products and guiding teams to success? As a Lead Assembler, you'll play a pivotal role in driving production across multiple product families. This position is more than just assembly-it's about leading people, shaping processes, and ensuring excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You'll be the bridge between employees, management, and sales, making sure daily assembly requirements are met while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. This will be a second shift role (3:00pm-11:30pm Monday - Friday) at our Racine facility. Job Duties: /n - Coordinates the day-to-day operation by leading and directing a group of employees to assure a smooth workflow; Organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet production schedule. /n - Reads and follows specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble products and examining completed work to detect defects and verify conformance to work orders, correct any problems /n - Provide a thorough technical understanding of production and assembly practices. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures /n - Acts as liaison, representing the team in general; point of contact for general assembly and quality control questions /n - Trains new employees and instructs employees on the proper use of equipment and tools /n - Display strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with Managers, Planning and Customer Service. /n - Provide input to improve assembly processes with a focus on safety, quality, on-time delivery and cost. /n /n Education and Experience: /n - High School Degree/GED required /n - 5 years of experience in assembly/leadership desired /n /n Qualifications: /n - Lean 101 training preferred /n - Experience in a Lean environment preferred /n - Experience with electronic assembly required /n - Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude along with the ability to read prints and measure parts while maintaining a customer-focused mentality required /n - Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekend shifts as needed required /n /n Competencies: /n - Collaboration: Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives. /n - Communication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to others. /n - Initiating Action: Take prompt action to accomplish work goals; take action to achieve results beyond what is required; be proactive. /n - Work Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. /n /n Working Conditions: /n - Work is performed in a Manufacturing environment /n - Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and complete an audiogram test /n - Those working in the Aerospace department must be able to pass a Vision, Color Vision, and Depth perception test /n - This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina. /n - Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day. /n /n LI-Onsite Competitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter: /n - Competitive Pay /n - Annual Bonus /n - Eligible for Annual Pay Increases /n - Comprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage /n - 15 days Paid Time Off 11 Paid Holidays /n - Two Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
