This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic marketing/PR leader who will serve as the primary Generac spokesperson. An individual that prospers in a fast paced, growth orientated environment will thrive in our organization. This is an integral member of the corporate marketing team who will serve as the primary spokesperson, oversee the external PR for our organization and develop proactive and reactive communications strategies that address issues and exciting new announcements that affect our company's reputation and crisis response. We are seeking a strong brand champion who will support the launch of new products and support multi- channel campaigns by creating, executing, tracking and measuring proactive internal and external communications plans as a part of our integrated marketing and PR strategy. Additionally, this is a high profile position that will collaborate with our EVP of HR & VP Corporate Communications building our global employer brand, social media tactics and communications content related to culture, engagement, and inclusion initiative.

  • Coordinate and facilitate public relations agency relationships, budget and agency resources on a global basis (primarily NAM) to
  • ensure communications strategizes and media relations objectives are achieved.
  • Oversee external PR for company and develop proactive and reactive communications strategies that address issues affecting the company's reputation and crisis response
  • Launch new products and support multi-channel campaigns by creating, executing, tracking and measuring proactive internal and external communications plans as part of an integrated marketing/PR strategy.
  • Coordinate and facilitate public relations agency relationships, budget and agency resources on a global basis (primarily NAM) to ensure communications strategizes and media relations objectives are achieved.
  • Serve as trusted advisor by providing ongoing external communications counsel and support to senior business leadership, including strategic planning, messaging, speechwriting, award nominations and presentation material creation
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local and national media representatives, publishers and editors;
  • Create content and identify, leverage and integrate video digital, social media and other appropriate platforms to increase the effectiveness and timeliness of communications--
  • Support and coordinate efforts for external communication tactics related to GenGives and Corporate Sponsorships, approved recruitment initiatives and other internal communication plans
  • Lead development and execution of a comprehensive media relations program to build employment brand strength in support of
  • recruiting and retaining great talent for the organization.
  • Develop global external and internal communications strategies that are strongly linked to business strategy including positioning as an industry leader across its global markets
  • Develop and manage the employer brand strategy.
  • This role will develop communication strategy for cultural and engagement initiatives including inclusion, annual engagement survey and other ad hoc surveys to gain understanding of the employee voice.
  • Collaborate with HR Leadership to build annual global internal communication strategy.
  • Lead administration and management of global company intranet and regional internal communications efforts
  • Designs and directs the work of the team; selects, coaches and develops staff; sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team; manages performance-- recognizing achievement, providing feedback and administering progressive discipline when necessary MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:--
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
    • 10 years' experience in communications
    • 7 years' experience managing media relations and service as a corporate spokesperson in both broadcast and print media interviews.
    • 7 years' experience leading, managing and training others. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:--
      • Progressive experience in a communications role within a fast-scaling global manufacturing company;--
      • Comfortability taking story ideas from concept to launch, creating themes that can play through PR, social media, executive keynotes,
      • marketing tactics and internal messaging;
      • Previous experience evaluating and managing corporate sponsorships; brand positioning, social media strategy
      • Previous experience in durable goods, home improvement, building or electrical product markets;
      • Previous experience with a global brand KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
        • Exceptional editing skills;
        • Outstanding oral, written and presentations skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to various external and internal target audiences,
        • and adapting content to different communication mediums;
        • Strong project management abilities; comfortable working independently and in teams to create and meet deadlines; capable of developing and managing a project plan, establishing priorities, working to deadlines and controlling a number of projects at various stages of work PHYSICAL DEMANDS:-- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting; close vision and ability to adjust focus. Valid driver license and ability to travel overnight up to 20%.
