(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.

considered. This opportunity seeks experienced Sign Language
Interpreters to provide essential communication support for
students within multiple schools located in the New Orleans, LA
area. This is a travel assignment based in Harvey, LA, serving the
Jefferson Parish School District. The role is full-time, aligning
with the school calendar and offering consistent, meaningful
engagement with school communities. Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear and effective communication by interpreting
American Sign Language (ASL) for students, educators, and staff.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support personnel to
ensure students academic and social participation. Maintain
accuracy and confidentiality while interpreting in diverse
educational settings. Adhere to all district policies, including
completing required drug screening and fingerprinting. Hold and
maintain an active Louisiana Department of Education certification
for Sign Language Interpreting. Qualifications: Active Louisiana
DOE certification in Sign Language Interpreting. Proven experience
interpreting in educational environments preferred. Ability to work
full-time hours: 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch,
Monday through Friday, following the school calendar. Commitment to
timely credentialing requirements and background checks.
Flexibility and readiness to travel between multiple school
assignments as needed. This contract position begins as soon as
possible and extends through May 22, 2026. Candidates benefit from
