HNI Corporation, a leading workplace furnishings and hearth manufacturing enterprise, is looking for a new Category Manager to join their Leveraged Furniture Operations team in Muscatine, Iowa! - Our Category Managers are a key part of our vast supply chain network, more specifically our Strategic Procurement team, a highly visible and high performing group of professionals. - As a Category Manager, you will develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and provide expert perspective on specific categories, sharing knowledge on marketplace environments, industry trends, and supplier capabilities. - In this role, you are a critical connection between our valued suppliers and HNI's manufacturing and operations, developing and assimilating a strategic vision for your designated category. - You will also manage and develop a cross-functional team of analysts, enforcing structure and leading through continuous improvement initiatives. -The procurement and category management team of HNI is a dynamic, progressive group that contributes significantly to HNI's ability to meet key strategic goals and financial targets. - The Category Manager position offers continual challenge and growth opportunity! - -Some of the essential aspects of the Category Manager position include:

  • Implement planning tools and processes to capture and mitigate supplier constraints to demands.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing and disputes for the benefit of HNI.
  • Evaluate operational and financial risk inherent in potential or existing supply chains to predict any level of detriment to HNI goals or end user expectations.
  • Guide the analysis of spend for specific categories.
  • Identify and introduce new materials, supply chain capabilities, technologies, and processes to meet current and future interests of HNI products and services.
  • Minimize supply chain disruption and execute projects on time, to budget, and without HNI or customer impact.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the category through price, design, structure and process.What it takes:
    • 7-10 years of experience in supply chain with focus in strategic procurement and supplier relations, preferably in manufacturing and operations.
    • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Supply Chain or Logistics, Business or Engineering
    • Superior communication and negotiation skills.
