Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Summary of responsibilities: •
Perform efficient quantity take-offs for all 16 divisions of work,
thoroughly review & analyze site information, geographical
consideration & labor parameters resulting in awarded contracts. •
Work with Project Managers to negotiate work, competitively bid
projects and follow up on pending projects with established
clients. • Build and maintain positive relationships with: clients,
subcontractors, vendors, architects and Horizon personnel. •
Analyze projects on a pre-bid basis for strengths, weaknesses
(risks), and profitability. • Review bid plans, specifications and
ITBs for scopes of work and trade requirements. • Create and submit
detailed RFC/RFI to Architect and Owner Project Manager. • Manage
Project Coordinators to assure that the proper number of
subcontractors are solicited, and bids received. • With assistance
from Project Coordinator, obtain pricing from the competitive bid
market (trade subcontractors and material suppliers). • Investigate
potential problems and additional costs that may not be evident
upon first review of the bid plans. To qualify for the position of
ESTIMATOR, we desire: • AAS Degree in Drafting or a construction
related field is preferred. • Previous construction related
experience is preferred. • Prior computer experience with Email,
Excel, Word and Microsoft Office Suite • Prior drafting or AutoCad
experience is preferred • Previous estimating experience is a plus
