Job Summary

As a member of the senior leadership team for Company Transformer Solutions, reporting directly to the President, this role will be responsible for leading the largest manufacturing operation in the Company portfolio. The medium and large power transformer facility is responsible for delivering over 70% of the business unit revenue annually.

This key leadership position will be responsible for all aspects of the Waukesha operation, including: Safety: Driving a culture of accountability, awareness and continuous improvement in safety in all aspects of site operations Operational Excellence: Delivering on short and long term operational commitments. Ensuring existence of strong standard processes and operational cadence related to strategic operational areas – Strategic and annual operating plans, KPIs, and talent and organizational planning; Continuous Improvement: Driving and working with team members to deliver excellence through focus on process efficiency, value engineering, quality, sourcing, asset management and other strategic manufacturing initiatives. Strategic Leadership: Partnering with all members of the Transformer Solutions leadership and extended team to develop and execute on the short and long term strategy for the business and the development of action plans to deliver on commitments to all key stakeholders – customers, shareholders, and employees Incumbent is responsible to establish and maintain a culture focused on the safety of our associates and meeting our customers’ expectations, and has significant responsibility in driving collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring solid leadership and manufacturing operations experience, preferably with a high-mix engineered to order product background. This role requires a leader that is able to facilitate and drive service, quality, cost and safety leveraging solid engineering skills in a fast paced environment. The position will require a leader with a strong blend of business management and technical skills in order to meet the business’s objectives, leveraging his/her background and experience to drive results via credibility, influence and leadership by example.

This position is viewed within the Company organization as a potential feeder to future general management and/or operational excellence roles.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety: Drive a culture of accountability, awareness and continuous improvement in safety and all aspects of site operations In all areas of responsibility which have a direct impact on the health and safety of employees and the environment, assure that appropriate safeguards are in place and that the EH&S Policies and Procedures are fully supported and implemented Operational Excellence: Financial proficiency required to establish all required budgets and resource plans for the manufacturing operations. Monitor and perform within forecasted plan. Identify, communicate and drive labor, other variable and base cost leverage. Oversee approval and spending of capital investments and improvement projects. Undertakes regular and frequent financial reporting to continuously ensure results are meeting or exceeding commitments on all initiatives/projects. Oversee global budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements. Establish internal processes to be able to present the performance and financial analysis to the senior management team on a regular basis. Provide overall Operations leadership, problem solving, and strategic direction for the operations team. Assess risk and devise countermeasures including but not limited to, talent and hiring, labor, material, and other variable costs, logistics processes, manufacturing strategy deployment, and driving to a zero harm safety culture. Direct manufacturing leaders via thought leadership to achieve corporate initiatives and strategies, ensure high-quality output, and continue a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Meet shipment and revenue schedules while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and maintaining cash flow Continuous Improvement: Develop, drive and/or support initiatives to manage risk and improve processes related to safety, quality, cost, delivery and customer and employee relations Execute talent management initiatives, including the creation and delivery of robust career development and supporting cross functional team development Implement communication strategy to improve employee engagement and insure the workforce is regularly updated on the state of the business, and that business objectives, values and our vision are understood Enhance quality standards to meet or exceed customer expectations. Oversee, identify and manage customer quality issues along with the VP of Engineering and collaborate with internal teams on root cause analysis. Maintain quality, safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility. Foster and maintain strong relationships with other members of senior management. Establish mechanisms to ensure high levels of collaboration across the organization Track key performance indicators that drive change and provide visibility to the manufacturing and leadership teams. Monitor routinely with active data analysis to target and drive results Participate as a member of global operations team to develop and improve the Company Business System Other: Supports/drives a performance based culture encouraging the leaders of the business to develop measureable goals and objectives for themselves and their teams that support the Company values and standards. Responsible for organization duties and responsibilities as contained in Items below: Provide leadership in the development of an effective organization and its members. Ensure timely and complete feedback provided to all associates, which enables them to improve their overall performance and contribution to the Company. Provide leadership which facilitates accomplishment of diversity objectives by ensuring support systems and practices are in place to provide all employees the opportunity to contribute to their full potential by identifying and eliminating the obstacles and barriers which prevent this from occurring. In all areas of responsibility, the incumbent is responsible for providing full compliance with the company Code of Ethics, which include ensuring subordinate staff are aware of the relevant company policies and that their responsibilities and actions comply and support these policies. Responsible for the performance of other tasks related to this position as they are assigned by cognizant management. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI) Safety (TRIR, DART) On Time Delivery (OTD) Quality (First Pass Yield, COPQ) Employee Engagement KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Strong ability to quickly assess and develop talent to build team and operational bench strength Ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines… sometime with conflicting requirements Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction and priority Ability to develop, interpret and apply required policies and procedures Ability to address tactical business shortcomings with strategic solutions Ability to build buy-in with multiple stakeholders with sometime conflicting priorities Strong financial acumen EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required Education / Experience Bachelor of Science in Operations Management, Engineering or related field 10+ years in manufacturing leadership roles Advanced Training in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5s, SMED, and other continuous improvement methodologies Strong financial acumen - understanding of operating costs and P&L measurements Knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Power Point required Preferred Education / Experience Master’s Degree/MBA preferred Experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling Experience with engineered to order manufacturing environment Experience leading cross-functional teams and/or projects CPIM Certification from APICS Demonstrated ERP proficiency
