Medical Assistant - Neuro and Pain- 1.0FTE- Days
Days - 1st Shift
The Department operates two service locations, one on the Waukesha
Memorial Hospital Campus and one at the Outpatient Physician's
Center in Oconomowoc. These two locations combine to complete 400
to 500 outpatient visits monthly. Specialty services include
medical pain management, pain psychology, stroke follow up clinic,
Multiple Sclerosis clinic, and concussion/brain injury clinic.
The department has 2 physiatrists, 2 psychologists, 2 advanced
practice nurse prescribers, 5 registered nurses and 4 clerical
staff. In addition, neurosurgeons, neurologists and other medical
specialists see patients within the clinics.
---Hours: Monday through Friday to support the needs of clinic. No
nights, weekends, holidays or on call.
Start and end times may vary, however typically between the hours
of 7am and 5pm.
This position will required working at several locations including
WMH and OPC.
This position will be directly supporting Neurosurgery patients and

Medical Assistant/LPN needed to assist at Neurosciece locations.
You will work directly with patients of all ages under the
direction of a physician, APNP, PA, and/or RN. You would be
responsible for tasks such as preparing exam rooms, stocking
medical supplies, obtaining vitals, recording health histories in
the electronic medical record, assisting with physician procedures
using sterile technique, answering and making patient phone calls,
preparing and administering medications and vaccines, performing
health screenings, collect blood and other specimens to prepare for
testing, and providing provider directed follow-up care and
instructions. Must be flexible and able to adapt to working with
others and at different locations. This is an opportunity to work

- High School diploma or GED
- One of the following educational/background is required:
- Completion of 1 year Medical Assistant Program (qualified by
the AAMA preferred).
- Current state license required for those who completed the LPN
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) certification
preferred but not required for those who completed the Medical
Assistant education program or Completion of an accredited LPN
education program or Documented completion of the United States
Military Medical Corpsman program
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a physician office as a MA
or LPN preferred
- Current BLS CPR Certification
