We Are Hiring: -Clinical Nurse II - ICU Waukesha Memorial - Days
- -Waukesha Memorial Hospital's Intensive Care Unit is a 24 bed,
multi-specialty unit including cardiovascular, neuro-surgical,
medical respiratory, sepsis, drug overdoses, suicide attempts, a
variety of other surgical, and trauma. This team works with adult
and some pediatric patients. -The ICU intensive care unit at
Waukesha Memorial Hospital has earned a silver-level Beacon Award
for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care
Nurses (AACN). The award recognizes unit caregivers for
successfully improving patient outcomes and aligning unit practices
with AACN standards. Units that receive this three-year award meet
national criteria consistent with other national quality awards,
such as the National Quality Healthcare Award. Waukesha Memorial is
one of only two hospitals in Wisconsin to earn the silver-level
Beacon award. (2013). -Schedule Details: 12 hour day shift
0700-1930 role with every third-weekend requirement & holiday
rotation. - -What You Will Do:We are searching for a dedicated
Registered Nurse to work in the intensive care unit (ICU) to
deliver vital care to seriously ill or injured patients. As a
specialized nurse, you will be highly trained to treat patients
with cardiovascular, neuro-surgical, medical respiratory, sepsis,
drug overdoses, suicide attempts, and a variety of other surgical,
and/or trauma. -You will perform a range of tasks including
performing diagnostic tests, conducting follow-up visits,
monitoring patient recovery, and responding to medical emergencies.
In addition to having a highly analytical mindset, our ideal
candidate will also possess excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. -Responsibilities:
- Assess, implement and coordinate complex care and
interventions
- Support a compassionate and therapeutic environment for
critically ill patients
- Provide comfort and prevent suffering
- Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical
condition.
- Collaborate with patients, their families, their healthcare
providers, and healthcare professionals
- Act as patient advocates
- Arrange and oversee continuous monitoring and nursing
vigilance
- Administer pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments
What You Will Need:
- Associate's degree in nursing required, bachelor's
preferred
- Registered Nurse licensure in State of WI or the ability to
obtain
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or
ability to obtain upon hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification or ability
to obtain upon hire
- NIHSS Certification or ability to obtain upon
