Therapist Job Description
Provide social services to patients and their families in an acute care setting, including partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services.

Job Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate direct social services to patients and their families.
  
• Provide therapeutic treatment services to individuals, groups, families, and significant others.
  
• Assess patient needs and provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  
• Interact with patients, family members, and significant others with respect and dignity.
  
• Participate in psychoeducational support sessions and provide case management and therapeutic interventions.
  
• Serve as patient advocate and adhere to System policy and procedure.
  
• Implement goals and interventions as specific on the Care Plan and ensure goals are SMART.
  
• Document progress according to the treatment plan and complete discharge documentation as required.
  
  
  Additional Responsibilities:
  
  • 
    
  • Provide for patient safety and the safety of the facility.
    
  • Intervene appropriately to maintain patient safety and communicate any patient safety concerns to the treatment team.
    
  • Ensure patients are in appropriate areas at all times and report any safety hazards promptly.
    
    
    Education and Training Requirements:
    
    • 
      
    • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited school.
      
    • In-training as a Licensed Professional Counselor or equivalent in state practicing.
      
    • Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups.
      
    • American Red Cross Professional Rescue certification required within thirty days of hire.
