Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Medical Center Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of ER experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSST Must-Have: Epic experience required, PIV starts, cardiac rhythm interpretation, cardiac medications, vasopressors, TPA administration preferred Description: Level III Trauma Center with a Level II NICU and Primary Stroke Center. Total of 167 beds available. 28 beds in the ED. Experienced team settings with patient types ranging from neonates to geriatrics. 45% of patients are 65 years or older. Common conditions include geriatrics, chest pain, atrial fibrillation, and stroke. Higher acuity patients (ESI Level 2-3) are a significant portion of the workload. Average of 60 patients per day. Patient ratios are 1 RN to 3-4 patients, both days and nights. Support available from a charge nurse who may take patient load. Bedside telemetry monitoring is provided without dedicated telemetry tech. Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist, Pharmacy, and EICU services are available 24/7. Charting is done using the EPIC system. Scrub colors are flexible as long as they are professional. A culture of high engagement, teamwork, and collaboration is maintained. Weekend rotations occur every other weekend. Holidays require one shift during the summer and one during the winter.
