Job Description Hours: 40 hours per week Day Schedule: 7:00 AM -
3:30 PM (Works Holidays and Works Every Other Weekend) Location:
Feinberg/Galter; FL BS The Supply Chain Specialist II, Logistics
reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the

other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Supply Chain Spec
II, Logistics performs the daily activities of various tasks within
the Supply Chain team including inventory ordering and
replenishment, receiving, equipment, linen, and mail. Will act as a
functional expert in key areas, processes, and/or tasks and will
provide advice and assistance regarding those within the
department. Works in role to meet and exceed established key
process indicators (KPI’s). Participates in the design and
development of standard work and processes. Provides input on
inventory level analysis, consigned product analysis, cost
containment, and process improvement initiatives. Assists with
communication as directed within the department related to
policies, procedures, MDI and standard work methodologies. Work
with clinical staff on communication around product changes.
Assists all internal customers regarding supply chain logistic
issues and communicates with Supply Chain Leadership regarding
findings and resolutions. Responsibilities: Follows standard work
and methodologies around inventory, receiving, equipment, linen and
mail. Utilizes standard processes within WaveMark and PeopleSoft to
maintain data integrity. Utilizes problem solving skills to resolve
complex or critical situations involving technology, customers,
staff, and other supply chain management personnel: consults with
SC Leadership for guidance as needed. Monitors daily activity to
ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Manages special
projects as required. Works with SC Leadership to develop and
document standard work methodologies. Ensures support of MDI and
daily huddles. Orders and delivers supplies and/or linen to user
areas based on par level. Identifies stock shortages and notify
management. Conducts routine audits of supplies, linen, and
equipment to ensure inventory accuracy, compliance with par levels,
and proper usage. Identifies and documents discrepancies,
expirations, shortages, or overstock; communicates findings to
management and supports corrective actions. Answers incoming calls
from users identifying supply needs. Represents the Supply Chain
Department and participates in special meetings as directed.
Maintains work area to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Promotes safety in the workplace, following proper lifting and
pushing/pulling techniques and utilizing equipment correctly.
Notifies supervisor of equipment needing repairs. Reports all
safety hazards to manager. Communicates to supervisor any issues,
including inability to complete schedule and is proactive in
dealing with observed deficiencies (reports issues/work requests to
supervisor/manager, picks up debris outside of regular work area)
Establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships with hospital
personnel, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
Use organizational and unit/department resources efficiently.
Manages work schedule efficiently, completing tasks and assignments
on time. Contributes to opportunities and processes for continuous
improvement. Participate in efforts to reduce costs, streamline
work processes, improve and grow the services we provide. Presents
a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
Provides accurate information and timely updates to patients and
customers. Addresses questions and concerns promptly or identifies
appropriate person and resources to do so. Provides directions or
help to patients and customers with finding their way. Use
effective service recovery skills to solve problems or service
breakdowns when they occur. Demonstrates teamwork by helping
co-workers within and across departments. Communicates effectively
with others, respects diverse opinions and styles, and acknowledges
the assistance and contributions of others. Train new employees on
processes and policies May act as a resource and point of contact
in the absence of the Operations Coordinator or Supply Chain
Manager. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or
equivalent; or in lieu of high school diploma/GED, must have a
minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Must exhibit the
ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to
communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff. Computer
literate – MMIS software experience preferred Must be able to work
independently and respond quickly under pressure when problems
arise Good organizational skills. Ability to think critically
Preferred: Five years’ work experience in a hospital or healthcare
environment. Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare processes and
healthcare supply chain. Associates degree in related field.
