extraordinary Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) to work in our

you and hone your skills. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will
provide appropriate therapeutic intervention specific to the age
and condition of each patient and carry out the plan of care which
is established by an occupational therapist. An OTA is responsible
for thoroughly documenting patient treatment sessions and any
changes in condition and other pertinent information as required.
The successful candidate will be in communication consistently with
the supervising occupational therapist to notify the OT of when
goals are met and goals and/or the plan of care needs to be
updated. Duties/Responsibilities: Works with occupational
therapists to plan, implement, and administer treatment programs to
restore and enhance performance in individuals with functional
impairments. Selects therapeutic activities to fit patients’ needs
and capabilities. Instructs or assists in instructing patients and
families in home programs and education. Implements or assists
occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans to help
clients function independently. Alters treatment activities to
obtain better results if treatment is not having the intended
effect. Demonstrates therapy techniques such as manual and creative
arts or games. Ability to create and carry out a treatment plan
based on an initial evaluation. Creativity with treatment planning
and activities in order to maintain novelty with the kids Able to
effectively upgrade and downgrade treatment activities based on the
child's needs. Strong patient care skills. Experience with a wide
range of patient age groups and disabilities. The ability to
motivate patients into pushing their limits in a responsible, safe
way. Selects therapeutic activities to fit patients’ needs and
capabilities. Instructs or assists in instructing patients and
families in home programs and education. Observes and records
patients’ progress, attitudes, and behavior, and maintains this
information in client records. Need to keep accurate and thorough
records of patient sessions and follow written and verbal
instructions carefully to ensure high quality care. Communicates
and collaborates with other health care professionals involved with
the care of a patient. Attends team and parent meetings to review
patient progress and update care plans. Communicates and

care of a patient. Should be able to interact with clients,
families, groups, and team members from various cultural,
emotional, intellectual, and social backgrounds. Communicate
effectively and sensitively with patients and their families.
Assembles, cleans, and maintains equipment and materials for
patient use. Performs clerical duties such as managing their
schedule, keeping their Central Reach schedule up to date,
notifying admin of openings/cancellations/discharges, documenting
accurately and keeping track of visit numbers if there is a cap on
insurance. Notifies Team Lead if there is low treatment supplies or
new supplies needed. Knowledge of responsible use of facility
equipment, best practices for equipment use and preventative
maintenance procedures. Aware of potential safety hazards and
prevention. Able to use a gait belt when appropriate. A strong
ability to multi-task and remain focused and good-humored under
pressure and in a busy environment. Ability to work comfortably
with quickly shifting priorities and interruptions. Be open to

daily Good time management to manage caseload, keep track of
authorizations, and complete notes within 48 hours Education and
Experience: Associates degree Certification and/or licensing may be
required by state law. Pediatric experience recommended Physical
Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting on the floor, sitting at
a child sized table or standing. Prolonged periods of standing,
reaching, and bending. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at

Dental Vision Qualifications Occupational Therapy (OTA) Licensure
in the State of Illinois 1-2 years of experience The belief that
