SSM Health, a leading Catholic not-for-profit health system, invites applications for the position of Wisconsin Youth Apprentice, designed for high school students interested in exploring careers in healthcare. This opportunity allows individuals to gain practical experience while supporting the mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services across the Midwest. Apprentices will be immersed in various departments, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals in a supportive and educational environment. Assist in patient care under the direct supervision of experienced healthcare professionals. Participate in daily health care operations and assist in the coordination of patient services. Shadow healthcare professionals across various disciplines to gain broad exposure. Attend educational workshops and training sessions to enhance healthcare knowledge and skills. Support the healthcare team in administrative tasks and patient documentation as needed. Basic understanding of healthcare operations Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team An eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tasks Respect for confidentiality and patient privacy Medical Insurance CPR certification highly regarded, but not mandatory.
