Provide specialized cardiac nursing care in an intermediate care unit focused on complex cardiac and medical cases requiring expert patient management during night shifts. This travel opportunity offers a 13-week commitment beginning in early April, working 12-hour night shifts with a guaranteed 36 hours per week and weekend/holiday rotations every other week. Flexibility to float to nearby facilities as needed ensures a dynamic clinical experience. Key Responsibilities: - Manage cardiac patients with conditions such as heart failure, post-open heart surgery, arrhythmias, chest pain, and acute myocardial infarctions. - Monitor patient rhythms and implement routine and advanced cardiac care protocols. - Provide care for a varied patient population including those with sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and other medical complexities. - Maintain accurate patient records using current Epic charting within the last 12 months. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support unit float needs to Oconomowoc Memorial and Mukwonago facilities when necessary. - Follow established protocols and adapt to changing patient acuity in a 31-bed high care unit. Qualifications & Experience: - Active Wisconsin or Compact RN license. - Current certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS. - Minimum 1 year of cardiac nursing experience, preferably 2 years in medical-surgical acute care. - Comfort managing patient ratios of 1:4-5 on night shifts; ICU nurses with cardiac experience encouraged to apply. - Proficiency in rhythm interpretation and cardiac patient management. - At least one completed travel nursing contract preferred. - Experience with Epic charting system within the past year. Additional Details: - No on-call or call-back requirements. - COVID-19 vaccination required unless legally exempt. - Flexible scrub color policy. - Guaranteed 36 hours/week excluding holiday unit closures. - Supportive management respects clinical scope during float assignments.
