In a single day, staff from 4 specialty based teams work within 16 Operating Room Suites to handle as many as 40 cases ranging from Cardiothoracic, Neuro/Orthopedics/Dental, General/Vascular/ ENT, GYN, Urology, to Plastics surgery. Waukesha Memorial Hospitals Operating Rooms average 8,500 procedures annually including da Vinci Robotic procedures performed within more specialties routinely than any other facility in SE Wisconsin. The OR suite also includes a newly built Hybrid OR and a fully integrated Minimally Invasive Robotic room.
---Hours: 630-1500,1300-2130 with rotation to meet scheduling needs. Call is encouraged but optional. On- call hour coverage Monday through Friday 1530-2130 and 2130-700am. (10-12 call shifts per 6 weeks) 24 hour call for Weekends and Holidays. (1 weekend per 6 weeks, 2-3 holiday shifts per year) 10 and 12 hour shifts will be considered
Full Time / Part Time: Pool/As Needed - no Benefits
Surgical Technologist functions as the scrub person. Works under the direct supervision of an RN or physician to facilitate safe and effective care during invasive and operative procedures. They ensure that the OR is safe, equipment is functioning properly and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Facilitates a physician's performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
- Associates Degree
- Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist program CST preferred or equivalent military training program.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a surgical technologist in the same area or in similar day-to-day situations in a hospital operating room setting.
- AST membership preferred
- Successful completion of CST exam
- Minimum License BLS (CPR)
- Experience (or interest) in Orthopedics and Neurosuregery preferred
