Youth Organizer (full-time) The Milwaukee Youth Organizer position
strengthens the Core Leadership of Voces de la Fronteras youth arm,
Youth Empowered in the Struggle (YES), by recruiting, training, and
motivating student leaders in both Voces organizational and
campaign activities, including high school based campaigns. The
Milwaukee Youth Organizer position also recruits and involves new
youth leaders through providing direct assistance with DACA and
college access. This position works closely with YES staff and
teacher advisors to help high school YES leaders create functional
school-based chapters that help students build power in their
schools and communities through youth-led campaigns for social
justice. The goal of the position is to create a broad base of
youth, mostly high school age, to work on youth-led campaigns for
social justice. Note: This position will include work for both
Voces de la Frontera and our 501c4 sister organization Voces de la
Frontera Action, as part of our efforts to support pro-immigrant
legislation and electoral candidates and raise up the Latine and
immigrant vote in the critical 2026 election cycle.
Responsibilities: Leadership development and consistent
communication with Core Leaders. This includes Freedom School,
summer retreat, and consistent meetings with students and advisors
throughout the year Work closely with YES Director and teacher
advisor to support high school YES chapters Carry out campaigns
related to immigration reform, Community Defense Network,
educational justice, voter education and engagement efforts, and
other social justice issues, in which high school students are
taking leadership Attend Voces staff meetings and coordinate youth
program work within the organization, including intergenerational
activities Help individual students with college access and DACA
resources Co-manage YES social media Coordinate member involvement
in fundraising Run Milwaukee Core Leadership meetings, including
preparing the facilitator in facilitation skills, Unity Clap as
well as coordinating the weekly agenda Work with the YES Director
to coordinate monthly political education/organizing training
workshops at Core Leadership meetings Maintain recruitment,
training, and follow up with Core Leaders Maintain communication
with YES Director through weekly work plans and daily reports
Manage youth membership progress along with youth staff and leaders
to meet yearly membership goals Attend high school chapter meetings
biweekly for assigned chapters to build membership, involve current
and new teacher advisors, increase parent involvement, and build
leadership of student leaders Ensure that timesheets are submitted
on time according to the schedule provided by Supervisors,
managers, and directors are responsible for reviewing and approving
their team's timesheets within the specified timeframe. This
position also requires regular submission of receipts, membership
data, and mileage records. Mandatory Attendance: Attend mandatory
meetings and events, including but not limited to all-staff
meetings, directors' meetings, May Day, the annual Gala, retreats,
and other organizational events as Qualifications and Experience:
2-3 years experience in community organizing, youth leadership
development, and/or program development Experience with leadership
development, organizing strategies and civic engagement campaigns
Demonstrated capacity in working with diverse youth populations,
school-based organizing is a plus Experience in NLRB union election
campaigns, electoral campaigns, managing canvases is a plus
Demonstrated capacity in working with diverse stakeholders
including program advisors, school staff and funders Must have
reliable vehicle, car insurance and valid drivers license Bilingual
Spanish/English preferred but not required Experience with digital
organizing a plus Experience with immigrant rights organizing
preferred Must be willing to work a flexible schedule which
accommodates youth schedules' including evenings and weekends
Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and other basic
computer programs Benefits Overview (Eligibility begins after a

de la Frontera Employee Handbook. Paid Time Off (PTO) Benefits for
Full Time Employees: Vacation Time: 80 hours per year Personal
Time: 16 hours per year Sick Time: 64 hours per year All time-off
benefits are prorated based on your start date and will be renewed
to the full annual allotment on January 1st each calendar year.
Vacation Accrual Increases with Tenure: After 2 years of continuous
employment: vacation time increases by 50% (120 hours per year)
After 5 years of continuous employment: vacation time doubles (160
hours per year) After 10 years of continuous employment: vacation
time increases by 150% (200 hours per year) Reports to: Statewide
