Commercial Litigation Attorney (Portable Book of Business) -
Chicago A well-established, full-service law firm with a strong
Midwest presence is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation
Attorney to join its Chicago office. This role is designed for a
senior-level attorney with a portable book of business who is
looking to grow their practice within a collaborative,
sophisticated litigation platform. The position offers meaningful
autonomy, high-level matters, and the ability to expand existing
client relationships while leveraging the firm's resources and
cross-practice support. Salary & Benefits - Competitive base
compensation typically ranging from $200,000 to $300,000, depending
on experience and size of portable book of business - Lucrative

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school - Active license and
good standing with the Illinois Bar - 5 years of commercial
litigation experience - Demonstrated portable book of business
(generally $200K in annual originations, flexible based on fit and
growth potential) - Significant experience handling complex
business disputes, including contract, shareholder, fiduciary duty,
and corporate governance matters - Strong courtroom, motion
practice, and discovery skills - Excellent written and oral
advocacy abilities - Proven client development and relationship
management skills Responsibilities - Handle sophisticated
commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution in
state and federal courts and ADR forums - Manage and grow an
existing book of business while identifying opportunities for
expansion within the firm's platform - Serve as lead counsel on
complex disputes, including strategy development, motion practice,
depositions, hearings, and trials - Advise business clients on
litigation risk, strategy, and dispute avoidance - Collaborate with
attorneys across complementary practice areas to cross-sell
services and deliver comprehensive client solutions - Mentor junior
attorneys and contribute to the continued growth of the litigation
group - Participate in business development, networking, and
marketing initiatives - For this position, you must be currently
