Job Description:
Position Overview Keep our communities fed. Our focus is simple

help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As a Produce
Perishables Inspector, you are responsible for the daily inspection
of inbound and outbound products. This includes, but is not limited
to, monitoring product expiration or best-use dates; verifying
proper slotting; and addressing product issues with the supervisor
or manager. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that
all perishable quality and food safety specifications are followed.
This includes company procurement quality specifications, customer
quality specifications (if applicable), and government regulations
in accordance with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and
Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) guidelines. Job
Description - Full Time, On-Site Role - Location: 2215 Union Ave.,
Sheboygan, WI 53081 - Schedule: 1st shift (5:00 AM–1:00 PM) or 2nd
shift (10:30 AM–7:00 PM); required to work 2 Sundays per month You
will contribute by: - Inspecting inbound produce deliveries to
company facilities for quality, weight, size, color, date code
requirements, and proper labeling. - Inspecting the quality of
outbound produce in slots to ensure products meet customer
specifications. - Updating overages or shortages and sending
reports to Procurement, if applicable. - Working closely with
quality control inspectors, receiving clerks, and the warehouse
operations supervisor on inbound truckload deliveries to the
C&S perishables facility to ensure timely delivery and receipt
of quality produce. - Communicating inbound receiving issues to
Procurement and warehouse management to regulate and facilitate
receiving dock flow operations. - Communicating vendor-specific
issues and concerns to Buyers, Category Management, and the Quality
Control Manager to ensure compliance with quality specifications
and food safety regulations. - Supervising USDA federal inspections
requested for the facility. - Notifying appropriate parties of
issues identified during the initial inbound inspection process. -
Filing inbound inspection reports and completing write-ups in a
timely manner. - Monitoring warehouse activities that may affect
product quality and safety, including ensuring pallet receipt date
tags are routinely checked by distribution center receivers;
maintaining proper paperwork flow; identifying discrepancies in
product counts; and verifying truck manifests for accuracy. -
Auditing inventory levels and rotation to ensure products meet
company freshness and quality standards, and advising responsible
parties of any concerns impacting product quality. - Striving to
maintain quality standards across the supply chain. - Performing
other duties as assigned, including maintaining relationships with
internal customers (Procurement and Warehouse Operations), ensuring
steady and consistent dock movement to optimize freshness, and
cross-training with other facilities to provide coverage as needed.
We’re searching for candidates with: - Knowledge of USDA standards
for meat and produce, PACA regulations, State DEC, HACCP standards
for seafood, and customer specifications (preferred but not
required). - USDA produce certification or HACCP certification
(preferred but not required). - Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Suite. - Ability to operate equipment as necessary. - Ability to
stand for extended periods of time. - 2–5 years of wholesale or
warehouse experience. Environment: - Warehouse : Perishable
Warehouse (28F to 60F) - Warehouse : Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)
