The Sales Tax Analyst is an integral part of the Finance team
and is responsible for providing reliable, timely and accurate tax
data in a dynamic and growing environment. This position is
responsible for researching, analyzing and reviewing tax matters
and proactively resolving issues to address and minimize tax risk.
The Sales Tax Analyst will provide support and guidance to the
entire Finance team and will report directly to the Tax
Roles and Responsibilities:
Preparation and filing of sales tax returns in all 50 states
Researching and determining sales/use tax treatment of sales and
purchases related to the software and services industry.
Working with customers and business units to assist in fixing any
sales tax discrepancies on sales invoices.
Partner with the internal sales staff to provide guidance in
determining the US sales tax treatment for customer proposals,
projects, and invoices.
Maintaining exemption certificates for all customers.
Assisting Tax Manager with implementation and maintenance of sales
tax systems to ensure we are compliant with the sales tax laws in
all 50 states.
Supporting the Tax Manager with the coordination and the defense of
all US sales and use tax audits, including the accumulation of
audit data and the negotiation of audit settlements.
Filing/Reviewing refund claims.
Assisting the Tax Manager with the filing of annual reports,
business registrations, property tax reports and other compliance
Import and maintenance of sales tax rates in ERP System
Reconciliation and analysis of sales tax balance sheet accounts
What we need to see from you
Bachelor's degree in Accounting 5+ years sales tax experience
preferred Strong technical, research, and analytical skills to
assist in the taxability of sales and use transactions.
Solid PC skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office
productivity tools High degree of ethics and integrity Ability to
think and act independently and objectively, prioritize, organize
and make decisions on a timely basis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with ERP
and reporting systems; Navision experience a plus Positive,
flexible, dynamic, open-minded
