Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The IT Infrastructure Leader will be leading the infrastructure
exit. This role provides the right leader with the opportunity for
an infrastructure fresh start with the migration of a division to
join the Prolec joint venture.
The IT Infrastructure Leader will plan, organize, and manage
people, processes and technology to ensure the stable operation of
one or more IT infrastructure service functions. This role is a
globally focused role and needs to work with the IT Director and
the other joint venture IT Operations management team members to
deliver IT Infrastructure services. Duties include operating,
maintaining, supporting, measuring and optimizing key functional
areas of the IT Infrastructure. Particular areas of focus are
targeted at Network Services, Operations Services and Platform
services. This role will also be responsible for the coordination
and scheduling of activities needed to resolve hardware and
software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee IT Infrastructure service operation functions including
scheduling and change management processes to achieve performance
criteria as specified in service level targets
- Assist in the development, prioritization, management and
execution of goals & objectives for the IT Infrastructure service
team. Goals and objectives are to be implemented in alignment with
global IT goals and objectives
- Vendor Management
- Manages the Operations and Implementation of the company's data
communications network
- Work with other IT Infrastructure teams to ensure effective
delivery of technologies that meet business needs and ensure these
solutions are supportable
- Maintain an effective system of communication with peer IT
Operations service teams across the global operating
environment
- Highly technical and very involved in the day-to-day
infrastructure operations
- Assist in the development & use of metrics needed to drive the
service function. Compare these results to established objectives,
and take steps to ensure that we maintain and optimize the service
function
- Assist in the establishment & maintenance of policies and
standard operations procedures for the company's infrastructure to
leverage efficiencies and best practices across all service areas
of the organization
- Plans, designs, installs, and troubleshoots LAN/WAN
infrastructure including Internet connectivity, firewalls, and
network monitoring systems.
- Manage budgets, allocate resources, and determine the schedule of
delivery for service related technology enhancements &
maintenance
- Manage all work pertaining to IT infrastructure service aspects
of mergers, joint ventures, acquisition of businesses, or sales of
major assets
- Determine project schedules, effectively manage the allocation of
resources to achieve project schedules, determine project
deliverables and coordinate technology implementation needed for
project releases
Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained. This is to include SOX
monitoring and reporting requirements
Follow company policy with regard to internal controls as well as
comply with policies to ensure that the employee and the company
act legally and with the highest standards of confidentiality,
ethics, and integrity
- Expected Travel: Less than 25%
- All other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure including, but not limited
to servers, networks, storage, monitoring systems and telecom
systems
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco, LAN/WAN configuration,
troubleshooting network problems
- Working understanding of popular network communications protocols
such as SNMP, DNS, RPC, HTTP etc
- Provides 2nd and 3rd level end user technical support for all
network functionality
- Excellent communication and prioritization skills
- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and
organizational skills
- Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense
of urgency, drive, and energy
- Works well in a fast growing environment with the ability to
deliver on time
- Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest
standards of ethics and integrity
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements dictated by
business and IT requirements
- Ability to motivate successful team behavior
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
- 6+ years of experience in a related position in a corporate IT
environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technology field
or the recognized equivalent in work experience or self-study
Preferred Education / Experience
- PMO experience
- At least one relevant professional level certification such as
the CCNP, CCIP, JNCIP, etc
