Job Title: Pay for Skills (P4S) - Melt-Pour Level 2
Number of Openings : 1
Shift: Third shift, normal scheduled hours Midnight - 10:00 a.m. Mon- Thur nights
Location: Waukesha Foundry, Inc., 1300 Lincoln Avenue, Waukesha, WI 53186
Department: Melt/pour
Reports to: Melt Supervisor
Pay Type: Hourly
Wage: $20.26 per hour

Job Description (meant to be a description of basic job tasks, not all inclusive)
- Proper weight & clamp placement per size of mold before pouring
- Proper inspection of sprue & risers to be correct and any debris removed
- Read master for requirements and special instructions
- Proper pouring technique ( even stream, pour box full, proper height of riser)
- Proper gas removal technique as pouring
- Placement of hot topping and heat tags after pour
- Removal of clamps & weights when cool

Ladle Repair:
- Ability to place ladles on preheater and safely light
- Knock out, replace or repair lining in ladles (including safety liner)
- Make ceramic pot for hand shank

Furnace Helper:
- Ability to use heat log as reference to weigh raw materials, revert & deoxidizers to correct weight. Additions included.
- Deliver correct charges to correct deck in order of planned pours
- Perform Cycle counts

Melt Scheduler:
- Set up and organize molds for desired alloy and quantity to be poured
- Stamp heat tags with heat number of heat to be poured
- Record correct data of what was poured on each heat including pouring temps, test material, serial numbers, samples
- Maintain Heat Identification log, ladle log & test bar log

- Safe operation of hoist
- Safe operation of forklift
- Read and understand master sheets
- Read measuring devices
- Work safely in a team environment
- Maintain proper housekeeping for work area
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Must be able to perform all of the above mentioned tasks in a safe manner and as part of the team. Employees interested in this level 2 position will be required to do a rotation of Pouring, Ladle Repair, Furnace Helper & Melt Scheduler operations. This will foster the team environment and ensure all Level 2s maintain all skills required in this level.

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Skills: Must have the ability to:
use direct reading and fixed gauges
use basic arithmetic functions such as add, subtract, multiply, divide.
work with percentages and decimals.
read and understand shop paperwork.
Abilities: Must be able to achieve forklift certification.
Working conditions: Normal foundry atmosphere.
