Come join our family-owned company!Formulation Team Member1st ShiftWatertown FacilityPosition OverviewThe Formulation Department is the area where the fresh pork is ground, the spices are added, and then blended (formulated) to specifications for sausage making. This room is where the magic happens! The successful candidate will learn all the roles within the department which include, measuring/sifting spice, operating/emptying the blenders, operating the xray/fat machine, and utilizing PIV forklifts to move combos of batter to staging. The successful candidate will also ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.Essential Duties / ResponsibilitiesWork together with other Formulation Members to obtain world class blending results in safety, yields, usages, and efficiencies.Participate in daily meetings and project teamsThink pro-actively and understand how formulation affects plant flow Set goals and objectives; both personal and as a team member to acquire superlative performance in order to support the Johnsonville WayPrepare equipment for use by utilizing detailed checklists for inspection and assemblyPerform periodic wash-downs of equipment to prepare for different productsLearn and excel at every position within the department Use SAP software functions for the departmentComplete Formulation Documentation accurately Maintain the highest standards of detail as it relates to product specifications and qualityMust be able to obtain forklift license and keep safe driving recordAbility to perform responsibilities in a safe and efficient mannerComply with USDA regulations, GMPs, and safety rules at all times (including lockout/tagout)Willingness to work overtime as production demandsAbility to communicate effectively with the team and work toward a goal without direct supervision Complete all other duties as assignedEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredExperience / SkillsPrior food manufacturing experience preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills requiredExcellent mechanical and mathematical aptitude Ability to read and understand a production scheduleAbility to work safely from elevated platforms and liftsAbility to work in a cold environmentAbility to work at a pace consistent with the process flowBasic computer skills requiredProven ability to multi-taskPhysical DemandsMust be able to lift 60 poundsWalking and/or Standing throughout the shiftBending and/or Reaching throughout the shiftWorking at heights and on platformsWillingness to work in cold conditionsLocation:Watertown Hours:1st Shift: 5:45am
3:00pm (end time varies depending on production needs).
