The EAM Subject Matter Expert reports to the Delivery Executive in a strategic consulting and delivery support role. The EAM Subject Matter Expert will lead and advise teams implementing EAM systems throughout SDI's client portfolio. The role will provide support in forming EAM and GIS vision and leadership, careful planning, and disciplined execution to meet scope, schedule, and budget goals. Additionally, this candidate should be a high achiever with an early career in maintenance management plus 10+ years of consulting experience working with executive-level clients and can speak to business process experience implementing complex, enterprise scale EAM systems such as IBM Maximo, Hexagon, Trimble/Cityworks, or SAP PM/MM.The EAM Subject Matter Expert should be an expert in maintenance management business processes and systems, as well as a hands-on leader with broad enterprise-scale system implementation experience, be composed under pressure, a self-starter, can quickly assess priorities, engage resources, and drive to resolution. The position also coaches and mentor's junior employees.Success depends on the candidate's ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and with clients and demonstrate both an exceptional command of implementation fundamentals, as well as the ability to advise on and deliver innovative solutions.Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance expertise to support leading practice business process design and implementation as part of large EAM implementations.
  • Lead and advise teams assessing client business processes, designing future state business processes, and implementing those processes as part of large EAM implementations.
  • Lead translator between client system users and technical implementation team to clarify user needs and technical system issues.
  • Advocate for the user to provide the best possible user experience in the delivered EAM system while ensuring leading practices are followed by users.
  • Assess and document key EAM and process change impacts for use in managing change communications.
  • Work with a training team to ensure clear, detailed, user-focused training material and delivery.
  • Instill a sense of urgency in staff and clients, identifying and producing needed deliverables on time or early.
  • Interact with clients at all levels regarding the nature of the business need or issue to be resolved.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, anticipating and planning for contingencies.
  • Lead and coach team members to build internal skillsets.
  • Drive effective and efficient command of the fundamentals of managing implementation projects.Requirements
    • 10+ years of experience working in maintenance management in an asset intensive industry (ports, energy, utilities, mining, chemicals, manufacturing, etc.). Deep understanding of reliability improvement and maintenance concepts such as Preventive Maintenance, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Corrective Maintenance, Asset Reliability, and related KPI's.
    • 10+ years of progressive experience in delivery of professional services related to maintenance management or EAM systems implementation. Experience at "Big Four" consulting firms a plus.
    • Experience working within a PMO environment, delivering enterprise level, multi-workstream programs with multiple concurrent interrelated deliverables.
    • Experience creating/interpreting/explaining business process diagrams using MS PowerPoint, Visio, and/or other business process tools.
    • Basic understanding of relational databases, SQL queries, and report writing.
    • Must be self-directed and able to make decisions with minimal supervision.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
    • Must be highly articulate, from a business and technical perspectives, able to quickly produce and present coherent, organized presentations based on clear logic, particularly where client data is limited or questionable.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, information systems, finance, accounting, or related discipline preferred.
    • Must have consulting and client management skills working on the shop floor, front line supervisor, middle management, and executive level client contacts.
    • Function professionally under pressure with a keen sense of urgency, while managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines under sometimes ambiguous and often complex circumstances.
    • Demonstrates professional tact, good judgment, and discretion.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillset.
