Job Description:
The Print Production Scheduler is responsible for the planning
and scheduling of all jobs going through the print shop. This
includes assisting with establishing processes and timelines that
will maximize production and establish realistic deadlines that
meet customer expectations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and
may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as
management may deem necessary.
- Establishes the schedule for all jobs based on relevant
criteria to include due date, customer, size of order and
availability of materials/components.
- Creates the master schedule; monitors and updates it to ensure
on-time delivery of product to customers.
- Monitors the schedule daily and makes changes when necessary,
such as when resources do not arrive as planned or when equipment
fails.
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity and
determines estimated processing time for each job by balancing the
workload with equipment and people requirements.
- Identify and report capacity and/or material supply problems
well in advance.
- Verify that Non-Inventory items have been purchased and
received.
- Verify that any outsourced services have been contracted and
that timelines from the vendors are adhere to.
- Resolves problems utilizing acquired knowledge and analytical
abilities.
- Identifies trends, bottlenecks, opportunities, and potential
actions that may benefit the customer and flow of jobs through the
print shop.
- Attends and takes an active role in daily productions meetings
to review production progress compared to the schedule.
- Assists Department Managers in directing shop floor
priorities.
- Follow and complies with safety policy and procedures.
- Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.
Qualifications
Must have experience in the print industry. EFI/Pace experience is
preferred.
