Job DescriptionSUMMARY: The Customer Service Representative/Production Scheduler role is responsible for customer satisfaction and the relationship with the customers' buyers as it relates to fulfilling demand. The Order Fulfillment Specialist manages orders through the scheduling and manufacturing processes from order receipt to shipment. The Customer Service Representative/Production Scheduler is responsible for knowing the status of an order, driving actions required to fulfill orders on time, and communicating the status to the customer as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Receive purchase orders from customers, coordinate purchase order acceptance, date movement, and shipment with the customers' buyers and enter associated customer orders within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
    • Coordinate customer order demand in the scheduling horizon, sequence jobs for production, and communicate lead time expectations
    • Work with Production Team Leaders to understand production cell capabilities, work load capacity, and other changeover constraints; create an attainable schedule; and allocate jobs to production cells accordingly
    • Manage the job order load vs. manufacturing capacity to optimize capacity utilization and achieve 95%+ on-time shipping to promise date
    • Work with Material Planning Analysts to understand material availability constraints and jointly develop strategies such as finished goods stocking to help mitigate supply variation and communicate short-term material shortages for resolution
      • Monitor open orders to ensure continued availability of the necessary resources, coordinate scheduling changes of orders as appropriate, and communicate changes to the customer
        • Work with Sourcing, Production, Engineering, Sales, Shipping, and Project Management to thoroughly understand the timing of resource constraints for every order and assist in removing constraints to on-time shipment
          • Maintain records to ensure access for associates, customers, and auditors as needed
          • Build effective relationships with customer contacts to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and retention
          • Generate custom documents in accordance with unique customer needs, including but not limited to custom packing lists and invoices
          • Respond to customer invoicing/credit issues and collaborate with Accounting, Service, and the Recovery team to drive prompt resolution
          • Support the Finance team with inquiries related to credit limits, margin, and pricing QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Required:
            • Associate's Degree and at least 2 years of experience in Production, Inventory Control, Operations, Materials, or equivalent combination of training and experience
            • Evidence of analytical aptitude
            • Manufacturing systems knowledge (i.e., worked in MFG Pro, Syteline, Oracle, or similar)
            • Ability to work in an environment prone to deadlines and shifting priorities
            • Ability to effectively make decisions with limited time and information
            • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources
              • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
              • Advanced experience with Windows Office applications
              • Ability to travel to customer locations Preferred:
